New Way Community Development Corporation (NWCOM) was developed to extend community services to those who would find themselves in need of them. NWCOM is a 501©3 not for profit organization that works in conjunction with other community organizations to meet the needs of various communities in Chicago. These include:
New Way Community Services of Illinois is committed to meeting the physical needs of the people. We do this through our clothing distribution program where we can offer good clothes to those who want them. We work to offer food through our monthly food distribution program where we give away bags of groceries to needy families. We also are involved in;
- Job assistance for those who are looking for work - job referrals
- Cooperating with other agencies
- Providing info about other social services in the area
Set Free Institute exists to reach displaced men and women. We reach out to those who are recently released from prison and who suffer from drug abuse issues. We are in the process of developing both a Set Free men's home (Set Free Home For Men) and a woman's home (Russa L. Davis Home for Women) that will serve as an assisted living facility. We help people to successfully reenter society by giving them the skills to cope with a changing world. Funding received into this institute helps us to return displaced people into their homes and back as productive citizens into society. We do this through:
- Prison Ministry Outreach
- Set Free Homes for Men and Women
- Initiatives to raise funds to support a cure for cancer
- Drug Abuse Rehabilitation programs
- Daily meetings
- Opportunities to find work
- Partnership with local businesses
- Job readiness training
If you know of a man or woman who would like to apply for entrance into our Institute email us at info@newwaymin.org or call us at 1-773-417-4253.
